  [Helical scanning](https://support.lumafield.com/platform/scanner-modules#helical-scanning) is now available as a standard capability. Use of helical is available to customers on our Professional or Enterprise platform tiers, and requires scanners to be calibrated to our [updated method](https://support.lumafield.com/platform/scanner-software-release-notes#-improved-calibration-method).

  ### 🚀 Fast Scan Improvements

  Major improvement of reliability and quality of scans under 10 minutes, including reliable scans down to 60 seconds.

  ### 🔄 Scanner Remembers Prior Scan Position and Angle

  The scanner now remembers prior scan positions and start angles for "Move to Scan" and "Repeat Scan", making repeat jobs faster and easier.

  * **Move to Scan position** now returns to the position where you last pressed "Move to FFC/Load". This means you can easily check the FFC position of a part and return back to the initial position. Previously, "Move to Scan" would only center the Y-axis.
  * **Repeat Scan** now remembers the "startAngle", using it for both FFC and the first projection

  ### 📦 Cached FFCs for Expanded Volume Scans

  Cached Flat Field Correction (FFC) images now work with expanded volume scans, improving workflow consistency.

  ### ⚙️ Autotuner Enhancements for Offset Scans

  Improved autotuner reliability and performance specifically for offset scans.

  Repeat Scan now uses cached Flat Field Correction (FFC) data, resulting in faster repeat scans and fewer interruptions from FFC capture errors.

  For scans run over three days prior, the scanner will automatically recapture FFC images to ensure data quality.
