Both pathways are especially effective on densely packed, mixed-material parts like PCBs, delivering a big jump in overall data quality. Consult Lumafield for detailed guidance on when to use each technique. ### ๐Ÿš€ Nearly 50% Faster Reconstructions Our default reconstruction pathways are now nearly **50% faster**, so you can move from scan to analysis more quickly with no changes to your existing workflows. ### ๐Ÿ“ Wall Thickness Analysis: Faster, Now on Meshes & Volumes [Wall Thickness Analysis](/voyager/voyager-wall-thickness-analysis) is now substantially faster and supports both meshes and volumes. ### ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Manager Dashboard Improvements The [Manager Dashboard](/voyager/voyager-manager-dashboard) has been updated to make workspace and user management significantly easier to navigate. ### ๐Ÿ• Streamlined Inspection Plane Workflow The [Inspection Plane](/voyager/voyager-inspection-planes) tools have been updated with a streamlined workflow. ### ๐Ÿ’พ View Profiles You can now save your inspection settings as View Profiles, preserving your default view settings across sessions. ### ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Sharper Scan Thumbnails Scan thumbnails are now more clear, with 2ร— the resolution. ### ๐ŸŽจ UX Improvements * Minimum size user input parameter is now preserved and displayed for pores, inclusions, and cracks, with support for iteration. * Improved diameter callouts for cleaner, more readable measurements. * Split viewport now inherits the source view's state when created. * Collapsible attribute and data panel โ€” more screen real estate when you need it. * Toolbar has been cleaned up and streamlined. * Scan information now displays time in seconds for improved precision on fast scans. ### ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Inspection Plane Rework The inspection plane now uses a floating toolbar for a cleaner, less cluttered experience. This is the beginning of a further investment into 2D dimensioning in Voyager Core โ€” expect further updates to our 2D dimensional analysis tools over the Summer. * Supports inspection plane creation and usage on left or right viewport. * **Tip:** Create or select an Inspection Plane to access Line, Diameter, and Angle tools in the viewport. ### ๐Ÿ“Š Mesh Compare Slicing Mesh compare can now be sliced in 2D, showing deviation-colored lines. This supports more rigorous evaluation of mesh comparison results. ### ๐Ÿš€ Voyager 2.0 Voyager 2.0 is our largest release to date. The Project Editor is reorganized around three task-focused [Modes](/voyager/voyager-modes), and we're shipping the first generally-available 3D GD\&T suite โ€” [3D Auto-Dimensioning](/voyager/voyager-auto-dimensioning) โ€” directly inside Voyager. ### ๐Ÿงญ Voyager Modes The toolbar now organizes Tools into three Modes so the right Tool is always at hand: * **[Analysis Mode](/voyager/voyager-modes#analysis-mode)** โ€” every existing Voyager Tool, including ROIs, Inspection Planes, Mesh, Compare, and the full Integrity Analysis suite. * **[Dimensioning Mode](/voyager/voyager-modes#dimensioning-mode)** โ€” the new 3D GD\&T Tools. * **[Reporting Mode](/voyager/voyager-modes#reporting-mode)** โ€” Bookmarks, Renders, and Animations, the foundation of reporting and sharing in Voyager. ### ๐Ÿ“ 3D Auto-Dimensioning [3D Auto-Dimensioning](/voyager/voyager-auto-dimensioning) is a new precision GD\&T suite powered by Automatic Feature Extraction on full-resolution reconstruction data. Designed initially to comply with [**ASME Y 14.5 - 2009**](https://www.asme.org/codes-standards/find-codes-standards/y14-5-dimensioning-tolerancing/2009), with a mathematical implementation based on the [**ASME Y 14.5.1 - 2019**](https://www.asme.org/codes-standards/find-codes-standards/y14-5-1-mathematical-definition-dimensioning-tolerancing-principles) mathematical definitions, it ships with: * **[Direct Dimensions](/voyager/voyager-direct-dimensions)** โ€” Distance, Angle, and Diameter measurements between extracted planes and cylinders, with tolerance and pass/fail color coding. * **[Flatness](/voyager/voyager-flatness)** โ€” GD\&T Flatness evaluation on any plane feature, with erosion and tolerance controls. * **[Datum Definition](/voyager/voyager-datums)** โ€” Plane, Axis, and Midplane datums on parts and imported CAD. * **[Profile](/voyager/voyager-profile)** โ€” Full-part and per-feature Profile evaluation against an uploaded `.STEP` model with datum simulation. Expect rapid updates as we extend these Tools and weave GD\&T functionality throughout Voyager. ### ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Manager Dashboard Refresh The [Manager Dashboard](/voyager/voyager-manager-dashboard) has been updated with a refreshed layout and clearer plan and usage views. ### ๐Ÿ” Scanner Login Scanner access can now be limited to user login. Reach out to [support@lumafield.com](mailto:support@lumafield.com) to enable scanner login for your organization. Once enabled, Managers can configure scanner access from the Manager Dashboard. ### ๐ŸŒ New Languages Voyager is now translated into **Japanese, Vietnamese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese**. More languages will be added over time. ### ๐ŸŽจ UI Refresh in Progress As part of Voyager 2.0, the controls for many Tools across the platform โ€” including in Analysis Mode โ€” have been upgraded. Documentation visuals will be refreshed in subsequent releases as the new UI lands fully across the product. ### ๐Ÿš€ Voyager Cache โ€” Faster Load Times Projects you've visited before will load significantly faster on return visits. Less waiting, more inspecting. ### ๐ŸงŠ Viewcube Fix Fixed a bug where consecutive double-clicks on the [Viewcube](https://support.lumafield.com/voyager/voyager-getting-around#viewcube) weren't flipping the view correctly. ### ๐Ÿ”ง Correction Factors Viewport Update Applying correction factors now immediately updates the Viewport without having to pan or zoom. ### ๐Ÿ“Š Uploaded Volumes: Better Bounds Uploaded volumes now compute better bounding boxes, improving how they display and interact within the viewer. ### ๐Ÿ› Other Bug Fixes * Integrity Analysis plane visualizations * Occasional crashes in the [Inspection Plane](https://support.lumafield.com/voyager/voyager-inspection-planes) workflow * Backend reliability improvements ### ๐ŸŽฎ Improved Volume Rendering Performance Volume rendering performance has been improved, especially for Chrome on Mac. ### โ˜•๏ธ Viewport Focus Our new viewport layout gives you more control, allowing you to select one viewport at a time. Selecting a new object will replace your "focused" viewport with that object. You can now share links that open the Dashboard with a specific Workspace or filtered view already applied. ### ๐ŸงŠ Viewcube Navigate your scans using the new [Viewcube](https://support.lumafield.com/voyager/voyager-getting-around#viewcube) controls. Orbit and roll your current view at precise degree increments, use keyboard shortcuts, and make easy comparisons between the same views across projects. ### ๐Ÿงช Data Quality Toolkit & ROI Copy & Paste Now in Voyager Labs If you haven't checked out the [Labs](/voyager/voyager-labs) button in your Voyager toolbar, now is a great time. We've released two new tools: * [**Data Quality Toolkit**](/voyager/voyager-labs-data-quality-toolkit) guides you through CT scan artifact identification and workflows to set correction parameters that can dramatically improve your reconstruction quality. * [**ROI Copy & Paste**](/voyager/voyager-labs-copy-paste) is a tool to copy ROIs between reconstructions in the same project, or between reconstructions in different projects. ### ๐Ÿ“‹ View Version & Release Notes in Voyager You can now view your current Voyager version and access release notes directly from the user dropdown menu in the top right corner. ### ๐Ÿ“Š Updated Plan Usage Metrics For customers on our Pro and Enterprise tier plans, the Manager Dashboard now displays updated storage and compute token usage metrics. ### ๐Ÿž Bug Fixes Fixed a bug where full resolution exports requested via Voyager did not properly send download link emails. ### ๐Ÿ” Scanner Workspace Access Controls Organizations can now control which workspaces each scanner can access and set scanner-specific default workspaces in the Manager Dashboard. ### ๐ŸŽฅ Display Cards for Requested Renders View requested renders and their status in the Bookmark Attributes Panel, similar to Recipe status within a project. Available renders download immediately when re-requested. ### ๐Ÿ–ฑ๏ธ ROI Authoring UX Enhancement In the ROI workflow guided mode, you can now click on step headings to move forward in the flow. ### ๐ŸŽจ Color Inversion for Image Planes Color map inversion is now available for image planes. Note: this is not yet applied to downloaded image planes. ### ๐Ÿ”ง Adjusted Project Toolbar Layout Some tools have shifted location in the top vertical toolbar and are now grouped into logical functional buckets. ### ๐Ÿ” Deep 2D Slices for ROI Authoring Deep 2D slices allow you to see the maximum intensity values from all slices when viewing a 2D cardinal in the ROI authoring workflow, making the ROI boundary definition faster and easier. ### ๐Ÿ’พ Full Resolution Project Export via Voyager Frontend For those with the Full Resolution Export Module, you can now export a project's data from the settings panel in a Voyager project. ### ๐ŸŽจ Color Map Inversion for Volumes and Radiographs You can now invert color map visualizations on volumes and radiographs. Inverted color maps help visualize lower density materials and make differences in material density, defects, and boundaries easier to perceive. ### ๐Ÿค– Multiple Document Object Support for Recipes Recipes can now support multiple objects in the Data Panel as input, providing more flexibility to your custom recipes. ### ๐Ÿช Integrity Analysis Updates Enhanced inspection capabilities for porosity, inclusion, and crack detection results. * **Display pore / inclusion / crack by ID**. You can now identify and view individual defects by their unique ID, making it easier to track specific anomalies across your analysis. * **View max diameters for pores / inclusions / cracks**. Maximum diameter information is now displayed for each analysis, providing critical defect sizing data for quality control and inspection workflows. ### ๐Ÿ”– Bookmark Full Resolution Volume Slices & Radiographs Create shareable references to full resolution volume slices and radiographs. Full resolution volume slices and radiographs provide full detail and clearer features for core inspection and measurement annotation workflows, enabling more accurate analysis. ### ๐Ÿž Bug Fixes Fixed a few bugs to improve image download reliability and experience enhancements to the ROI workflow. ๐Ÿ“ท **Image plane downloads**. Full resolution volume slices and radiographs now screenshot properly and receive the proper TIFF extension when downloaded. ๐Ÿ› **ROI slicing after rotation**. Fixed a bug with slicing after rotation in the ROI workflow. ### ๐Ÿ”ง ROI Workflow Updates Enhanced the ROI workflow based on your feedback with an optional advanced mode that restores the prior consolidated ROI workflow experience. We've also fixed a few bugs to improve reliability in the new ROI workflow. ### ๐Ÿช† Nested ROIs You can now create nested ROIs, enabling hierarchical analysis of sub-areas within larger regions for improved context. ### ๐Ÿ” Promote Cardinal Slice Planes to Full Resolution You can now promote cardinal volume slices (X, Y, Z) to full resolution, providing clearer features and full detail for more accurate inspection, measurement, and analysis workflows. ### ๐ŸŽฏ Slice Plane Snapping Double-click on any cardinal 2D slice to snap all slice planes โ€” in that view and the associated 3D view โ€” to that location with crosshairs added to the viewport. Single-click in any viewport to turn off the wayfinding cursor. ### ๐Ÿ’Ž Enhanced Volume Quality Newly-created volumes now display at much higher clarity and quality. Quick, lower-quality scans now look like higher-quality scans that were run for many hours, allowing you to speed up your scanning workflows or extract better data quality from your existing scan processes. All new reconstructions and ROIs created manually in Voyager will reflect this improvement, including new ROIs created for scans run prior to the update. ### ๐Ÿ” New ROI Workflow Introduced a new, step-by-step workflow for creating ROIs that makes the process easier and more intuitive. ### ๐Ÿ“ท Promote Radiographs to Full Resolution Now you can generate full resolution radiographs without downsampling. Scan information appears alongside these radiographs for better context. ### ๐Ÿ’พ Download Full Resolution Slice Planes For recipes that define full resolution slice planes, you can now download those slice planes as images. ### ๐Ÿ”— Extended Download Links Download links for full resolution data now last 72 hours instead of 24 hours, giving you more time to retrieve your data. We've also fixed reliability issues with the previous 24-hour links. ### ๐Ÿ“Œ Browser Tab Updates with Scan Names When you rename a scan in Voyager, the browser tab now updates to reflect the new name, making it easier to navigate between multiple open projects. ### ๐Ÿ”ง Improved Axis of Rotation Correction Enhanced our Automated Axis of Rotation Correction algorithm for better resolution and feature visibility in reconstructed volumes. Microfocus scanner users will experience fewer correction failures. ### ๐Ÿ“Œ Scan Info in Radiographs Scan parameters are now embedded directly in radiograph views, making it easier to provide context, interpret, and share radiographs. ### ๐Ÿž Bug Fixes Resolved black screen behavior that occurred when logging in or out when also viewing a project ### ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Voyager Government Cloud Now Available We're introducing Lumafield's secure, compliant cloud deployment for US federal agencies and defense contractors as well as organizations with sensitive data concerns. The Data Quality Toolkit can dramatically improve scan quality and helps unlock complex and challenging applications where scan quality might have been a barrier before. Currently available as part of Voyager Labs for select beta customers. ### ๐Ÿ“‹ List View on Project Dashboard View your projects in a condensed list format โ€” one of our most requested features. Switch between tile and list views to find the layout that works best for your workflow. ### ๐Ÿ” Full Resolution Image Support for Recipes Recipes can now generate full-resolution 2D images โ€” a significant quality improvement for radiographs and slice planes. ### ๐Ÿ“ VGL File Uploads to Voyager The Voyager Uplink Module now supports VGL file uploads, expanding our supported formats beyond TIFF stacks. This makes it easier to bring scan data from third-party CT scanners into Voyager for analysis and collaboration. ### ๐Ÿ“Œ Persistent Recipe Dropdown Selection Your selected recipe now persists when closing and reopening the recipe panel, so you won't lose your place when toggling between tasks. ### ๐Ÿž Tile Sizing Bug Fix Fixed a visual glitch where Project Dashboard tiles weren't sizing correctly on certain screen sizes. ### ๐Ÿ“ Upload more file types Users with non-Lumafield scanners can now upload .vgl files โ€” via the Voyager Uplink Module โ€” directly to Voyager. This is a huge time-saver for teams that previously had to export and upload TIFF stacks, a process that could take hours. ### ๐Ÿ”— Right-Click to Share from the Project Dashboard We've now made it even simpler to share projects โ€” right-click any project in the dashboard and grab a share link in two clicks. ### ๐ŸŒŽ Duplicate demo projects You are now able to make copies of our public demos to explore Voyager's key features on real-world scans. These starter projects come pre-loaded with scans, recons, analyses, and visualizations to help you get up and running with Voyager even faster. ### ๐Ÿค– Analysis Recipe Enhancements Analysis recipes can now specify a specific mesh or volume as an "external input" via dropdown selection in Voyager. This gives you more precise control over which data your recipes analyze. ### ๐ŸŽฅ Radiograph Animation Support Scrub animations are now supported for radiographs, bringing the same smooth animation capabilities to 2D radiographic data. ### ๐Ÿ”– Bookmark Improvements Single viewport bookmarks now work more reliably and are easier to create, making it simpler to generate high-quality bookmarks using recipes. ### ๐Ÿ“ Scanner Position Visibility You can now view the scanner position coordinates (X, Y, Z) for all scans when viewing reconstructions in Voyager, providing better spatial context for your data. ### ๐ŸŽฌ Animation Download Reliability Significantly improved the reliability of animation and render downloads after identifying and resolving the primary cause of download failures. ### ๐Ÿ“ Wall Thickness Analysis Updates When setting up wall thickness analysis, you can now toggle on ISO-50 thresholding as an alternative to manually setting threshold values. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * ISO 50 toggle option added to wall thickness analysis setup for easier configuration. * Panel headings are now collapsible for a cleaner, more organized interface. * Uplink upload units changed from millimeters to microns for improved precision. ### ๐Ÿ’ช Bulk Actions Improvements Enhanced bulk selection controls now allow manual deselection after using "select all," even when viewing only one page of results. ### ๐Ÿ“ Bulk Recipe Results Export You can now export recipe results in bulk, streamlining workflows for teams managing multiple analysis outputs. ### ๐Ÿ’ช Introducing Bulk Actions You can now search, select, and apply actions across multiple projects at once. While helpful to all, these are especially valuable for high-scan-volume teams and those managing projects across workspaces. * Advanced search and filtering (by metadata, recipe use, and more). * Batch selection of projects. * Run recipes, assign tags, set projects to Read-Only, or move projects in bulk โ€“ all in one go. * Project Description field is searchable, and can be set from within a project. ### ๐Ÿ“‘ New And Improved Support Docs We've made significant enhancements to our Support Documentation and Experience. The new docs platform includes: * Smarter AI search for finding answers faster. * Cleaner navigation and layout. * Updated guides with Voyager's current UI. * Feature-rich tutorials to help onboard and upskill teams quickly. ### ๐Ÿค– Analysis Recipe UI Updates Analysis Recipe runs, which used to be listed in the left-hand Data Panel, now appear in the Recipe Attributes Panel to reduce clutter. Click on the "Recipes" button in the top right panel to view which recipes have been run on the project, as well as their progress. ### ๐Ÿ“ Introducing Wall Thickness Analysis Wall Thickness Analysis is now available to all users with the Integrity Analysis Module. Whether you're working with plastic consumer and product packaging, thin-walled medical components, additively manufactured parts, or castings, this tool gives you a powerful way to assess both external and internal wall thickness and structural performance, alongside material usage. Review the support documentation here. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * Higher resolution PNGs (e.g., 4K renders) should now render properly. ### ๐Ÿ“ Probe Tool Enhancements Probe tool regions in 3D now show up in the corresponding 2D views, so you can orient your measurements within the cardinal slices as well. You can use the probe tool with CAD comparisons and Wall Thickness Analysis results. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * JPEG split screen render downloads now show both viewports in Firefox. * Voyager embeds with animations now allow for proper scrubbing through cardinal slices. ### ๐ŸŽฅ Animation & Render Tool Updates * Updated square video and image dimension settings to 1080 x 1080 (a more common format than the prior 1920 x 1920 dimensions). * Changed the default frame rate from 30 FPS to 24 FPS, which speeds up animation render times without any noticeable loss in video quality. * "Low" and "medium" quality videos are now roughly 2x smaller in file size, now more ideal for sharing and including in lightweight presentations and content. * Fixed an animation bug that caused split-screen video downloads to only show the primary viewport. ### ๐Ÿ“ Recipe Results Improvements Recipe results download zip folder and associated sub-folders names are now much more descriptive of the recipe, project, and object name. The top-level zip name includes the project name, recipe, invocation time. Sub-folders reference the document object name (e.g., a reconstruction name). File results within those folders include the project name, document object, and resultant file name. ### ๐Ÿ”– Bookmark Enhancements You can now bookmark probed CAD comparison views. ### ๐ŸŽฅ Introducing Animation And Render Tools Voyager's Animation and Render tools now enable 3D orbit and 2D slice scrub animations of scans, high-quality renders, share options, and extensive download settings. ### ๐Ÿ“ Introducing The Probe Tool Probe tool released. You can now take measurements directly on CAD comparison results. Before this enhancement, obtaining values was largely visual, with precise measurements requiring some magic barn door maneuvering. Now, you can directly click on a surface and obtain min, max, mean, and standard deviation values, putting more quantitative tools in the hands of users. ### ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ Request Project Access Users can request access to shared projects. Before this release, when a project was shared that a user didn't have access to, she'd run into a "Project not found" screen. With this update, users now have a path to request access to the project. Managers receive a request access email and can easily approve the request. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * You can now hover over a project name in the Project Dashboard and view the entire project name. * Viewers can now create revolving & custom slice planes (that only show in their project view). * Porosity, crack, inclusion analysis metrics in the Attributes Panel now respect the selected unit system. * We've increased the resolution percentage precision to avoid confusion with rounding errors. * We fixed a bug where completed recipes asked users to update the project but failed to save subsequent project edits. Clicking update should now properly update the project. ### ๐Ÿ›ฐ๏ธ Embedded Voyager Improvements Embedded Voyager now shows an overlay to inform users they can interact with the 3D model. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * You can now zoom out further in Voyager. ### โœ‰๏ธ Email Format Improvements New, clearer, and consistent formatting for account Verify Account, Complete Account Creation, Existing User Added to Workspace emails. This makes it easier for users to request access to Voyager projects (for scans shared with them by team members) and for managers to add users. ### ๐Ÿ”– Bookmark Updates Custom and revolving slice planes now show up in the 3D view in bookmarks, providing more context to bookmark viewers. ### ๐Ÿ”– Significant Bookmark Improvements * With deep links, you can now share links to specific bookmarks rather than landing on the top level project object, making sharing more targeted. * Moreover, bookmarks of revolving and custom slice planes now contain the slice visual in 3D, providing spatial context of the plane's location. * Lastly, we can now tailor bookmark settings via recipes to include parameters such as adjustable histogram, color map attributes, and more. ### ๐Ÿš€ Performance Improvements Major performance fixes / improvements to our Integrity Analysis tools. Before this fix, those with less performant machines could find it very difficult to inspect results, as their screen would go blank and require a project refresh. Now, viewing porosity, inclusion, and crack results should run smoothly for all users. ### ๐Ÿž UI Enhancements And Bug Fixes * Manual Axis of Rotation Correction (MAoRC) slice lines now extend beyond the 50% mark, enabling you to choose from slices on the extents of their scans. * Removed dithering from 2D slices. * Adjusted range mapper barndoor colors so they're consistent across workflows. ### ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ Mesh Enhancements * **Bidirectional thresholding**: Before this change, you could only control the mesh created from your scan by segmenting out lower attenuation material.
