Lumafield annual service

To ensure continued operational safety, regulatory compliance, and peak performance, all Lumafield scanners must undergo a mandatory annual service. This service must be performed by Lumafield or a Lumafield-certified external service provider.

Service scope

The annual service can require up to three full business days to complete. Upon completion, you will receive a detailed service report documenting the system’s performance and compliance status for your internal records. The main processes performed during annual service include:
  • Radiation emissions survey: A rigorous emissions test to verify the integrity of X-ray shielding in the scanner
  • Hardware checks: Tests to verify the functionality of interlocks, the motion system, and other components of the system
  • System calibration: A precision recalibration of the machine to maintain dimensional accuracy and image fidelity

Scheduling and compliance

The Lumafield Fleet Services Team will contact you approximately one month before your service anniversary (this date typically falls near the date of your initial installation) to coordinate a schedule for the annual service.
Important: If a scanner exceeds the one-year service interval without a completed inspection, the system will be remotely locked out to remain compliant with regulatory requirements. The scanner will remain inactive until the annual service is finalized.
If you have specific scheduling concerns or need to verify your upcoming service date, please contact support@lumafield.com.

Neptune interlock and indicator functional tests

Important: These tests may be legally required in your area. Please check with local regulatory bodies for specific requirements and mandatory testing schedules.
The following attached document outlines the functional testing procedures for the Neptune CT scanner’s interlocks and status indicators: Neptune Interlock and Indicator Functional Test Manual - English (August, 2024) If the system or X-ray status lights fail to behave exactly as described, the test is considered a failure. In such cases, you must Lockout and Tagout the machine according to company procedures and contact Lumafield Support at support@lumafield.com.
