Use the porosity feature to quantify enclosed volumes.
Authoring Porosity
The Porosity Authoring tool enables you to run and save an analysis on porosity with a custom pore threshold size. When the data has loaded, it will appear under the Reconstruction tab as a Porosity Analysis.
The result of this will be a new analysis that quantifies the size and reports overall metrics regarding any enclosed areas.
Analyze Porosity
- Select the desired porosity view from the listed datasets.
- Select the desired porosity view from the dropdowns.
- Views can be cross-linked such that clicking on a pore in 3D cuts to the proper 2D slice.
- To set this up, ensure both viewers are on the same porosity view.
- Clicking on a given pore provides "Selected Pore Metrics" about that individual's size, shape, and location.
- Bulk metrics are available in table format for the entire scan.
- Modify the "Data Map" as needed to highlight specific size ranges.
- Use the "Limit to Range" feature to update the bulk metrics if you wish to clip down to the selected range in the Data Map, and toggle back and forth to see how the selection compares to the global calculation.
