Precisely align two meshes using the Auto Alignment feature for better comparisons in Voyager.
Auto Alignment is a tool nested within the alignment object in Voyager. After two meshes have been coarsely aligned using the manual manipulation handles, running Auto Alignment will snap the meshes into a precise, globally calculated average best alignment.
Comparisons calculated between meshes aligned using this method will provide a more precise set of deviations, giving you a greater understanding of the bulk differences between a part and the CAD, or between two scans.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Create an alignment object by clicking the alignment button in the toolbar.
- Select the two meshes you wish to align.
- Coarsely align them using the manipulation handles.
- Click "Run Auto Alignment" and wait for your meshes to snap into alignment.
