Neptune Machine Initialization

How to startup & initialize your Neptune Scanner

Lumafield engineers and technicians handle the installation & initialization of your Neptune scanner. However, if for any reason you find it in a state where it is not operational, here are some quick start steps, as well as some steps that the user interface will occasionally instruct you to do before scanning.

Quick Start Guide

Your Neptune requires only a few hookups. Power (it can plug into any wall outlet), ethernet for an internet connection, and an access key.

Note: scanners with firmware delivered before Feburary 2023 may have a factory password of "meter"

Initialization Steps

There are two steps required periodically before scanning.

  • X-ray source warmup - this is required after significant breaks in scanning.
  • Motion stage homing - any time the machine is rebooted it will require a homing of the stage.

To execute these, you can find the notifications in the lower left of your Neptune's embedded touchscreen.

Once you locate this section in the lower left, you will see indicators that note either the scanner is ready to run or potentially that steps need to be taken.
