Release Notes

Voyager release details, from new features to enhancements to bug fixes

v1.60 – April 17, 2025

πŸ“ Probe tool regions in 3D now show up in the corresponding 2D views, so you can orient your measurements within the cardinal slices as well. You can use the probe tool with CAD comparisons and Wall Thickness Analysis results.

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:

  • JPEG split screen render downloads now show both viewports in Firefox
  • Voyager embeds with animations now allow for proper scrubbing through cardinal slices

v1.59 – April 10, 2025

πŸŽ₯ Animation & Render tool updates.

  • Updated square video and image dimension settings to 1080 x 1080 (a more common format than the prior 1920 x 1920 dimensions).
  • Changed the default frame rate from 30 FPS to 24 FPS, which speeds up animation render times without any noticeable loss in video quality.
  • "Low" and "medium" quality videos are now roughly 2x smaller in file size, now more ideal for sharing and including in lightweight presentations and content.
  • Fixed an animation bug that caused split-screen video downloads to only show the primary viewport.

v1.58 – April 3, 2025

πŸ“ Recipe results download zip folder and associated sub-folders names are now much more descriptive of the recipe, project, and object name. The top-level zip name includes the project name, recipe, invocation time. Sub-folders reference the document object name (e.g., a reconstruction name). File results within those folders include the project name, document object, and resultant file name.

πŸ”– You can now bookmark probed CAD comparison views

v1.56-1.57 – Mar 14, 2025

πŸŽ₯ (NEW) Animation and Render tools. Voyager’s new Animation and Render tools now enable 3D orbit and 2D slice scrub animations of scans, high-quality renders, share options, and extensive download settings.

v1.55 – Mar 6, 2025

πŸ“ (NEW) Probe tool released. You can now take measurements directly on CAD comparison results. Before this enhancement, obtaining values was largely visual, with precise measurements requiring some magic barn door maneuvering. Now, you can directly click on a surface and obtain min, max, mean, and standard deviation values, putting more quantitative tools in the hands of users.

v1.54 – Feb 13, 2025

πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ (NEW) Users can request access to shared projects. Before this release, when a project was shared that a user didn't have access to, she'd run into a "Project not found" screen. With this update, users now have a path to request access to the project. Managers receive a request access email and can easily approve the request.

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:
  • You can now hover over a project name in the project dashboard and view the entire project name.
  • Viewers can now create revolving & custom slice planes (that only show in their project view).
  • Porosity, crack, inclusion analysis metrics in the Attributes Panel now respect the selected unit system.
  • We've increased the resolution percentage precision to avoid confusion with rounding errors.
  • We fixed a bug where completed recipes asked users to update the project but failed to save subsequent project edits. Clicking update should now properly update the project.

v1.52-1.53 – Jan 30, 2025

πŸ›°οΈ Embedded Voyager interactivity improvements. Embedded Voyager now shows an overlay to inform users they can interact with the 3D model.

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:

  • You can now zoom out further in Voyager.

v1.51 – Jan 9, 2025

βœ‰οΈ New, clearer, and consistent formatting for account Verify Account, Complete Account Creation, Existing User Added to Workspace emails. This makes it easier for users to request access to Voyager projects (for scans shared with them by team members) and for managers to add users.

πŸ”– Custom and revolving slice planes now show up in the 3D view in bookmarks, providing more context to bookmark viewers.

v1.50 – Dec 19, 2024

πŸ”– Significant improvements to bookmarks:

  • With deep links, you can now share links to specific bookmarks rather than landing on the top level project object, making sharing more targeted.
  • Moreover, bookmarks of revolving and custom slice planes now contain the slice visual in 3D, providing spatial context of the plane's location.
  • Lastly, we can now tailor bookmark settings via recipes to include parameters such as adjustable histogram, color map attributes, and more.
πŸš€ Major performance fixes / improvements to our Integrity Analysis tools. Before this fix, those with less performant machines could find it very difficult to inspect results, as their screen would go blank and require a project refresh. Now, viewing porosity, inclusion, and crack results should run smoothly for all users.

v1.47-1.49 – Dec 5, 2024

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Manual Axis of Rotation Correction (MAoRC) slice lines now extend beyond the 50% mark, enabling you to choose from slices on the extents of their scans.
  • Removed dithering from 2D slices.
  • Adjusted range mapper barndoor colors so they’re consistent across workflows.

v1.45-1.46 – Oct 24, 2024

πŸ•ΈοΈ (NEW) mesh enhancements – bidirectional thresholding, single part isolation, and mesh decimation. Before this change, you could only control the mesh created from your scan by segmenting out lower attenuation material. Now, with bidirectional thresholding, you can also segment out higher attenuation materials, giving you more control over that mesh output. You can also decimate meshes so they're more manageable in other tools, like CAD and simulation software. And remember, on the other side of the spectrum, for work that demands high accuracy, you can download full resolution meshes (provided in an earlier release).

v1.44 – Oct 3, 2024

πŸ• Mesh / CAD / scan comparisons and custom & revolving slice planes – all of these now support dimensioning via inspection planes.

πŸ“ Recipe results are now downloadable as a zip folder from the project.

v1.43 – Sep 12, 2024

πŸ• You can now create inspection planes and dimension on custom and revolving slice planes.

πŸ•ΈοΈ (NEW) You can now download meshes that are too large to display in Voyager. CT scanning can yield very high resolution meshes, which some of you might require for workflows and analyses that demand high accuracy. Some high resolution meshes cannot be viewed today in Voyager, so we’re providing the option to download those meshes as an alternative.

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Cropbox handles no longer jump.
  • Circles with larger radii now render properly.

v1.42 – Sep 5, 2024

πŸ”— Voyager Uplink now has more graceful network interruption and retries.

πŸͺŸ Clearer messaging and suggested actions for users on data object load failures.

v1.40-1.41 – Aug 22, 2024

πŸ”¬ Generate Auto ROI moved earlier in the ROI flow, reducing confusion for those who manually create ROIs. We moved the β€œGenerate Auto ROI” button earlier in the workflow so you’re less likely to accidentally press it during a manual ROI generation.

πŸͺ Minimum inclusion size added to Inclusion Analysis so users can reduce noise and better tailor results. It’s often useful to keep in significant inclusions but exclude small imperfections below a certain threshold in an Inclusion Analysis. With this update, you can set a minimum inclusion size before running the analysis so you can limit results to the threshold that’s most valuable to you.

🐞 UI enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Manager dashboard enhancements provide better, more intuitive control for managers. Managers can now edit the default workspace that scans get uploaded to.  Usability updates improve clarity in workspace and role editor columns
  • mBHC now shows error messages and retry options in the case when correction images aren't provided

v1.36-39 – Aug 8, 2024

πŸ”— (NEW) Uplink Module released: this module opens up the power of CT data to even more engineering and manufacturing teams by allowing CT data from any scanner to be uploaded to Voyager. Once in Voyager, even engineers with little to no CT experience can interrogate scans, run analyses, and set up powerful automations. Uplink is also an opportunity to offboard back-office CT data storage costs and maintenance to Voyager. Check out the product page and support docs for more details.

πŸͺ Integrity Analysis reconstruction appearance updates:

  • Changes the copy to say "Use parent view settings" instead of "Grayscale".
  • Flips the on/off states of the toggle in line with this copy change.
  • Opacity slider disappears when parent view settings are in use.
🀏 Increased crack diameter limit: a small but important change that allows those using Crack Detection to increase the size of cracks they can detect
